I bought my pad around the same time as my bag, so a lot of the same considerations came to mind. I originally bought the SOlite because it was super cheap and light. It's great if I need to save weight on a trip and it never hurts to have 2 pads in case a friend needs one. I later bought the Trail Pro after I was doing more car camping and realized I had room for a bit more comfort. I sleep in the back of my truck a lot and stack both pads on top of each other. It makes for a pretty comfy night.
